The oval had been out of use for staff and students from the start of the year, with new turf being laid in Term 1.
The upgrade also included improvements to the grass and sprinkler system.
Head teacher of PE Eddie Teague thanked everyone who had been involved in the process of getting the project completed over many years.
"This is a long time in the making," Mr Teague said.
"We hope it inspires you to try a little bit harder, work a little bit longer and achieve a bit better results for yourself."
Goulburn High Principal Yogesh Mani said it was great to see such a wonderful resource now available to the students.
"We want to make sure you, as our students, get the best resources in this school," Mr Mani said.
"This oval opens up a lot of opportunities for you to play sport and create a stronger sense of belonging for you at Goulburn High School."
Staff and students celebrated the occasion with an entire school dance.
