Simon Jiang stole the show in the 10th round of the Goulburn Table Tennis Club's A Grade competition, with two five-set wins over Jack Gray and Robert McIntosh.
These two victories were followed by a narrow defeat to Leon Jensen in yet another five-set match, but Jiang's efforts nevertheless helped the Eels secure a 6-5 victory over the Rhinos.
Mark Soley's 88's cemented their minor premiership credentials with a 6-5 win over the Eagles, as the best match saw Richie Jiang extended to the limit before downing Lachlan Bill in five sets.
The final A Grade match was taken out by Chintan Trivedi's Panthers 7-4 over James Turner's Bulldogs. The pivotal match in that clash saw Sam Dunn defeat Nicola Fraser in five tough sets.
In the 11th round, all three matches were won 6-5.
The first encounter saw the 88's side defeat the Eels, with seven of the 11 rubbers going to five sets. The best of these was Rod Blake's two wins over the previously unbeaten Mark Soley and fast-improving Lachlan Bill 13-11 in the fifth set.
Other five-setters saw Bill defeat both Simon Jiang 13-11 in the fifth and Isaac Mavrolelefterou by a similar close margin. The final three five-setters went to Mavrolefterou over Siobhan Scott and the 88's won the two doubles matches.
The Rabbitohs snuck home against the Bulldogs, as Michael Turner played well to defeat his brother James in four sets. This game was of a remarkably high quality, and both players had chances to take out the win.
The final match witnessed the long-awaited clash of the current Goulburn Champion Richie Jiang and four-time former champion Chintan Trivedi.
Again, the match was of an extremely high quality with the first four sets being shared two apiece. Trivedi's greater experience proved the difference in the end winning the final set in convincing fashion.
Chintan's effort went a long way towards his team Panthers winning the match over Jiang's Eagles with the added bonus of Panthers sneaking into fourth spot on the competition ladder.
