Volunteer Expo 2021
The Goulburn Volunteer Resource Service is pleased to announce that we will be holding our annual Volunteer Expo on Friday, May 21 as part of National Volunteer Week (NVW). NVW is Australia's largest annual celebration of volunteers and is held from May 17-23. Each year, these volunteers dedicate over 600 million hours to help others. The theme for NVW 2021 is Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine. Acknowledging it is time to: 'Recognise', celebrate and thank volunteers for the vital role they play in our lives, 'Reconnect' to what is important by giving our time to help others and ourselves and 'Reimagine' how we better support volunteers and communities they help. The Volunteer Expo to be held at the Goulburn Community Centre, 155 Auburn Street, is proudly supported by Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
National Simultaneous Story Time
Join us at National Simultaneous Storytime as we share Give Me Some Space! by Philip Bunting. Parents required to stay. Accompanying adults must book a ticket. A limit of one accompanying adult per family may attend the event.
Law Week - Death Cafe
When it comes to talking about death, it can be tricky to know where to start. This event is all about taking away some of the discomfort and sharing thoughts and feelings in a respectful, confidential space. The event will begin with a discussion panel of workers in this area including a palliative care worker, an end of life doula, a funeral director, a solicitor, and a bereavement counsellor. These experts will talk about some of the things to keep in mind when making end of life arrangements. Following the discussion panel, we will host a Death Café. Death Cafés have no set agenda or questions - they are for you to discuss your thoughts and reflections on death in small groups while enjoying some refreshments and cake.
