Narelle Shinfield, convenor of the Goulburn branch of Knitters Guild NSW, said that the trunk of the trees will be covered with the knittings done by the members of the group.
"We will decorate four trees with knittings representing the four seasons winter, spring, summer and autumn," she said.
The event will take place between 10am and 3pm in Belmore Park on June 12, on the occasion of Worldwide Knit in Public Day.
"Sometimes, we don't even know that our neighbours knit. The aim behind the event is for people to come together, socialise and get to know each other. It is all about better living through stitching this year," Mrs Shinfield added.
The event is not restricted to knitters and those who crochet can join as well. they have asked other groups who spin and weave to join them as well.
The group had plans to hold the event in 2020 as well but Covid changed its plans. "Depending on the participation of the community, we may hold the event next year as well," she said.
The display will be on show in Belmore Park for a week starting June 12 and will be placed in front of the Civic Centre until July 18.
Worldwide Knit in Public Day, which is held on June 12, was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other's company.
