A Goulburn man, whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim, has been jailed after assaulting an ex-partner while on bail for another domestic violence related offence.
The man appeared at Goulburn Local Court on May 26 and faced charges of common assault, destroy or damage property, and enter enclosed land without a lawful excuse.

Magistrate Geraldine Beattie said the assault occurred on April 17, 2021.
The magistrate told the court the matter occurred in the victim's home, while she was living with a relative, the day after separation from the offender.
"[The offender] was banging on the door and yelling. She unfortunately came outside," she said.
The magistrate presented to the court that the man grabbed the victim by the throat, pushed her back against the wall, banged her head against the wall, dragged her up stairs and then pushed her down them, slapped and punched her face, before he threw her to the ground and stomped on her face with his foot.
Police prosecutor Simon Enderwick said that according to police facts there was a child inside the house, within hearing range of the assault.
Magistrate Beattie said the next offence occurred after the man "was before me on April 20 for a domestic violence related matter."
"[The victim was] collected from court and locked in [the relatives'] house because she was scared of the defendant."
She said the victim asked to be locked inside as she was "scared, and fearful of the accused."
The magistrate told the court that later on a phone call was made to police claiming the accused was attempting to break in through the back door.
She said when police arrived the man was found in the rear yard, with "significant damage" to the bottom of the door.
Solicitor Kel Clowry said his client had acted "out of control".
"As far as assaults go it was a high level of criminality," he said.
Mr Clowry presented to the court the man had shown remorse by way of a guilty plea.
"This is a situation where he realises it's best if he has nothing to do with the victim."
The man was sentenced to 18 months full-time custody with a 13-month non-parole period. If he makes parole, the man will be released from prison on May 10, 2022.
