
Kerry Hort's outstanding service to health in the community has earnt her the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow medal. .
The award handed out by the Rotary Club of Goulburn meant a lot to the Goulburn Base Hospital project manager.
"I was pretty stoked," Ms Hort said.
"I went to the presentation and came away with a lovely acknowledgement.
"It was very lovely and unexpected."
Ms Hort has a long history in Goulburn and district's health sector, starting as a nurse at Crookwell Hospital and rising to be general manager of Goulburn's health services before being appointed as hospital redevelopment project manager.
She loves her job and explained how rewarding it was.
"I'm very passionate about public health and the good we can do for the community," she said.
"Seeing the care and support you can provide to people in times of their most need is the most rewarding thing."
Three new rotarians were also welcomed during the presentation night on Monday, May 31.
