Today, June 15, the Man Walk Goulburn kicked off Mens Health week with our regular 6am Tuesday morning walk with about 15 men and a couple of dogs for a Walk-Talk-Support.

As part of men's health week we then enjoyed a post-walk breakfast at Trappers Bakery, thanks to David Albrighton of Goulburn Country Motors.
International Men's Health Week runs June 14-20. It is an important week as we know that the health status of males in most countries, including Australia, is generally poorer than that of females.

Men are less frequent visitors to the GP and we know that blokes have a tendency to think "I'll be right" and not seek medical attention until it's often too late.
Our weekly Man Walk is not only a chance for me to connect and chat with other men but also a chance to get active and improve fitness levels.
We were pleased to have the support of Goulburn Country Motors along with special guests John Crooks of RJ Sidney Craig and our regular Man Walker, Inspector Matthew Hinton, officer-in-charge at Goulburn Police.
"Currently mental well-being is a priority and more importantly, we as a group and as a community are focusing as much energy as we can on lifting men to be great father's true to themselves and even to take breaks," regular Man Walker Pjero Mardesic said.
"Everybody knows men push themselves hard without taking a moment to stop and appreciate what they've achieved.
"Covid has been tough for all of us even if you have been in the winning circle, but there are men out there who get up every day, burning the candle sometimes at both ends, and it's a time where we stand together to encourage men's mental health for the week ahead."
