To mark the milestone, Tony Kranitis, who was with the Speedway committee since the very beginning, organised a celebratory night at the Goulburn Workers Club on Saturday, June 17.
Kranitis said the event was terrific.
"I couldn't have asked for a better night," Kranitis said.
It was a very special night for Kranitis too as he became only the second person in the country to receive a meritorious contribution award.
Adam Brook and Tim Savell from Speedway Australia presented him with the award.
"I was over the moon," Kranitis said.
"I didn't expect anything like that."
The speedway has changed a lot from the early days to what it is now due to upgrades and improvements to the venue, but Kranitis said there were still things to be done.
"We are looking for government funding and when we get it, we will seal the pit areas instead of having just dirt," he said.
"We hope to get a disabled area organised and new lightning."
For the time being though, he is pleased with the constant evolvement of the speedway.
"We're obviously going to keep going and upgrade, but we're in a good position," he said.

"We're getting good crowds, good competitors and everything seems to be going quite well."
During the official opening of Goulburn Speedway on June 27, 1971, more than $4000 was collected at the gate.
It attracted one of the biggest attendances of a local sporting fixture during that time.
