The country girl from Crookwell will compete in her third and, most likely, final Olympics when it hits Tokyo next month.
The Hockeyroo, whose 29th birthday will be on day six of the Olympics, was very proud of the achievement.
"This was the most nerve wracking selection I've been a part of," Chalker said.
"To see my name instantly was a huge relief."
The 230 gamer for the Hockeyroos was seriously considering retiring when COVID-19 came into play, but was glad she didn't.
"That was a real struggle on myself because, being one of the older members of the team, I had to decide between either committing myself to another year of training or calling it time on my career," she explained.
"I decided to give it one more crack and I'm really grateful that I did.
"I love being surrounded by people who are all very competitive and very passionate about the sport.
"We all share the common goal of wanting to win a medal."
There could not be a bigger contrast in weather conditions between Crookwell and Tokyo, with snow in the former and heat and humidity in Japan's capital.
Aclimatisation is key for the players and Chalker said the team is prepared.
"We went as a team to Japan in 2019 as preparation for Tokyo," she said.
"It will be one of the hottest and most humid games in history.
"We know how fit and healthy we will have to be there.

"We will also head to Darwin at the end of July for a heat climatisation camp."
Back in her hometown, Chalker is understandably a household name and she continues to receive plenty of support from those there.
"From all the Facebook messages I've been getting, I think everyone's really excited to be able to watch me on television and to support me again.
"The town has always been super supportive of me."
The Hockeyroos begin their campaign on Sunday, July 25.
