She has seen many changes at the school and been a part of countless students' educational journeys.
And now, 30 years later, the School Administrative Manager (SAM), has made the decision to retire.
Mrs Swadling first started at Goulburn High when she came in to do three weeks of casual work, and she has been here ever since.
Mrs Swadling has been the school's SAM since 2007 and has done an amazing job in that time.
"Interacting with staff and students has been fantastic. To see the Year 7s come in and then finish Year 12 as young adults, it's incredibly rewarding," she said.
"I have a great belief that it takes a village to raise a child and this is a great village to be in."
As SAM, she managed the SASS team which plays a key role in supporting teachers and students.
Her role also involved supporting the executive team, managing financial matters along with ensuring the school kept connected with the whole school community.
She thanked the team at Goulburn High for the support over the years and gave a special thanks to the late Dr Reece, who was a former principal of the school "for having faith in me to be able to do this job".
While she may have finished up in an official capacity, she said she would still continue to be involved in the school.
She will continue to present the Steve Swadling Memorial Award at the school's end of year presentation.
The award honours her late husband who went to school at Goulburn High and was heavily involved in the local community.
"I just wanted to honour that and I was really appreciative the school allowed that to happen."
Goulburn High School principal Yogesh Mani said Mrs Swadling would be a huge loss for the school but thanked her for her many years of outstanding service.
"She's always determined to do the best for the school and that came across in her interactions both at school and beyond. She's going to be missed by everyone," he said.
"Her ability to make sure things are done for the school is amazing. She has the school at her heart and in her SAM role has been a major part of the school's financial management. She played a very strong part as an office manager, leading a very cohesive team.
"I want to thank her for her support to me, she's always been someone you can rely on, someone you go seek advice from. It's going to be a terrible loss to the school but I wish her all the best in her retirement."
