The town recorded a staggering minus 7.2 degrees at Goulburn Airport at 5.25 am this morning.
That was the second coldest temperature in the state as well as the coldest morning in town since August 23, 2019.
At 5am, the temperature was seven degrees and half an hour later, it was 6.9 degrees.
A spokesperson from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said the freezing temperatures were down to the cold air and very still conditions.
"There was no cloud cover to keep any hint of warmth in overnight," the spokesperson said.
"All the heat could escape."
The coldest part of the state was the Perisher Valley which got to minus 10 degrees.
The BOM spokesperson said the cool temperatures would definitely stay around tomorrow.
"The temperature will still be in the low negatives tomorrow."
Many people woke up to frost this morning, especially on their cars, but that's Goulburn for you right?
