Christian Robert William Moss, 21, of Shoalhaven Heads, appeared before Goulburn Local Court from custody on July 14. He is facing charges of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and contravene Apprehended Violence Order (AVO).

Police prosecutor Sergeant Simon Enderwick opposed Moss' application for conditional bail. He said there were "unacceptable risks" and bail would "endanger the safety of [the victims] and the community".

"A term of imprisonment is certainly on the cards," Mr Enderwick said.

He argued Moss had just finished a Community Corrections Order in relation to violence against the same victim, and an "AVO wasn't sufficient to restrain his behaviour".

Magistrate Geraldine Beattie said there was "a very alarming set of facts" given to the court.

"The level of violence and the way [Moss] entered the home was of great concern"," she sad.

"The AVO should have protected [the victim] and it didn't.

"There is a really strong risk of you committing more offences and endangering [the victim's] safety."

Defence solicitor Matt Adam argued Moss had never been in custody before, and strict bail conditions would remediate his behaviour.

He told the court Moss was born and grew up in Goulburn.

Mr Adam said the accused was a "young man" and "certainly naive".

"Alcohol seems to be an issue to be addressed on an ongoing basis," he said.

The magistrate told the court Moss would turn 21 years old on July 16, and urged him to "picture spending that birthday in jail".

"It's your alleged actions which have now put you in this position," she said.

"I accept your youth and this is your first time in custody but at the same time your conduct was violent."

Moss was granted bail with strict conditions including a ban on entering the Goulburn Mulwaree area except for court purposes.

Moss will reappear at Goulburn Local Court on September 8.
