The garden is where the youth and other community members can relax, chat and enjoy the surrounds of the park.

Cr Carol James said a lot of work had been done on the garden recently and more features would come.

"We've planted plants which is looking great even though there is more planting to be done, the water features are in and there's also a windchime," Cr James said.

"We have some lovely sway seats that are coming as well as a sign."

The Goulburn Mulwaree Youth Council have been heavily involved with the garden and Cr James said the kids were going to start doing affirmation stones.

"The kids write positive affirmations on the pebbles and we will put them around the water feature," she said.

"They thought it would be a nice thing to do.

"With the youth conference coming up in September, we'll try to get some of the kids there to do the same thing."

A total of $55,000 was allocated towards the project by Goulburn Mulwaree Council as well as a further $15,000 one off grant from the state government following the support of Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman and Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women Bronnie Taylor.

With mental health being a big talking point at the moment, the mindfulness garden is a chance for the public to take a step back and relax with positivity.
