Contractors Power by Watts completed installation of new LED lighting for both fields this month, the council announced. The 500 lux maximum light strength will allow Goulburn to host national grade competitions.
The Moss Vale-based company won the tender in February from a field of nine to install the lighting for $324,971.

"It is a wonderful result to have this lighting already completed within six months of awarding the tender for the project," Mayor Bob Kirk said.
"This is a significant step in our redevelopment of the entire Goulburn Hockey Complex, with refurbishment of the western field now also well underway. Soon we will once again have a complex with two high-standard fields, which is excellent for the region."
A report to the recent council meeting stated that Polytan's refurbishment work on the western field had been held up in June due to the wet weather but there would be no impact on the final completion date.
The company is providing the new water-based field at a cost of $1,710,137. It is regarded as one of the most experienced companies in this arena, having supplied hockey surfacing for the 2016 Olympic Games.
The complex also includes upgraded men's and women's change rooms, and a new 132-space sealed car park. Councillors will decide the preferred tenderer for the car park's construction in August.
Design for the new and existing buildings has been finalised and a DA submitted to the council.
Staff expected the land sale to be settled by the end of July but this was also dependent on the issuing and registration of a subdivision certificate.
The council bought the land from the Goulburn Workers Club for $3 million.
It has budgeted $7,081,000 for the hockey complex, which includes $3,872,000 from Restart NSW, $3m in council funding and $200,000 from the Goulburn District Hockey Association. A total $2,709,000 of the council contribution is derived from the Veolia host fee.
The project is expected to be fully completed by April, 2022.
