Plans are underway to create a COVID Safe Goulburn and Surrounds Relay For Life at Eastgrove Park on October 30 and 31.
The Goulburn community are invited to come together to celebrate survivorship, remember loved ones lost and fight back against cancer.
Last year, the event was reimagined as 'Relay Your Way' under the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a 24-hour live broadcast on Eagle FM, teams participated in their own creative ways from the safety of their homes, keeping the relay spirit alive.
Eagle FM manager Paris Parker-Cox was thrilled to confirm their support as event partners again, providing 24-hour support for the event.
"Goulburn Relay is a special event on our calendar, and we are thrilled to be involved," Ms Parker-Cox said.
"Last year we were so proud to help raise $60,000 for the Cancer Council and we are excited to get our community behind this event again.
"We don't know what the pandemic situation will be in October, but we are lucky to have the ability to support regardless, so we really encourage all teams to register this year and join in the fun."
Goulburn Relay committee chairperson Rosemary Chapman was excited to be planning Goulburn Relay.
"We have learned a lot over the past 12 months and thanks to the support of our community, we believe we can work together to continue to put on a great event, whilst keeping the community safe," Ms Chapman said.
"We are encouraging teams to register, and we will provide updates as the months go along and we are very hopeful that we will be able to all be together at Eastgrove Park."
Organised by passionate, local volunteers, Goulburn and Surrounds Relay For Life is an event where everyone is welcome no matter your age or ability.
You can take part however you like by walking, jogging running, wheeling or even dancing.
The event begins on Saturday with the opening ceremony, followed by the survivors and carers lap of honour.
At sunset, candles are lit during a Hope ceremony in memory of those lost.
The closing ceremony will be on Sunday morning celebrating incredible achievements and motivating the community to continue the fight against cancer.
This year, the aim is to raise a total of $60,000 which will go towards funding cancer support and prevention programs in the local area, as well as funding world-class research that will improve treatment and support for cancer patients and their families in Goulburn and across Australia.
