"I was surprised, but very excited to be announced regional Family Day Care educator of the year," Ms Druett said.
"It has been a tough couple of years for me, both personal and professional due to the ongoing pandemic.
"However, I am so passionate about providing quality care and experiences for the children, so it's great to be recognised for that.
"I feel so lucky to work in a career that I love and with the most beautiful children and families."
After starting in the industry over nine years ago, she moved into family day care five years ago and has loved it.
"I felt I could spend more quality time building relationships with the children and actually engaging in activities rather than just getting through the routines of the day," she said.
"One of the things I love about family day care is being able to provide the children with the opportunity to engage in and be a part of the community.

If successful, she'll have a chance of taking out the title of National Educator of the Year.
