The COVID-19 vaccines help protect people from getting severe disease from COVID-19. Two doses of a vaccine gives people around 90 per cent protection against hospital admission and death from COVID-19 if they become infected.
Vaccines also help reduce spread of the virus to others and reduces the chance you will be infected with COVID-19 by 60 - 80 per cent.
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and free, and if you don't have a Medicare card, you can show ID to receive the vaccine.
