The 92-year-old, who has played golf for 56 to 57 years, recently hung up his boots and is one of Goulburn's longest participating players.

"I used to get a lot of muscle soreness because I played tennis all weekends and on Monday night as well," Bowen said.
"For the rest of the week, I would need to put up with a lot of pain.
"I thought 'I don't enjoy this, so I'll try something else'".
He was quite the golfer back in the day, winning a few competitions at a club level, but it was helping out juniors where he got the most joy.
"I did win quite a few competitions in the early days, but I had the good fortune of being able to help a lot of juniors over the years.
"I couldn't teach them much about golf, but I could teach them a lot about golf etiquette.
"I enjoyed getting youngsters to a stage where they appreciated what they were doing, learnt how to play and how to behave on a golf course.
Bowen was also lucky enough to play all over the country.
"One of my sons' worked in different states, so I did a lot of touring with my wife," he said.
"We played golf in every state except for Western Australia."
Bowen will definitely miss the challenge of the sport itself as well as the people he met.
"We all have the same idea of trying to beat the course which is pretty hard to do."
