The BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc held its delayed AGM via Zoom on October 11.
It had to be delayed from September due to COVID restrictions and the uncertainty of face-to-face meetings.
All positions were filled. Nerida Cullen remains as president, Prue Martin as vice-president, Camilla Cartwright as secretary, Tracy Hayes as treasurer, Kerry Hort as public officer and Karon Jones as publicity officer. Three new members were welcomed - Melissa Smereczanski, Emma Peden and Trish McLaughlin.
The 2020/21 year has been frustrating as planned events had to be postponed due to COVID lockdowns. However, two events were able to be held to fundraise for needed hospital equipment - Movie Under the Stars in February and in April, a barbecue at the monthly Rotary Markets.
The committee is preparing to purchase a Hearing Booth (worth some $26,000) and put funds toward an enhanced Patient Information and Entertainment System (some $15,000).
The committee remains committed to raising funds for equipment that will enhance the experience and comfort of patients at the Goulburn Base Hospital and looks forward to welcoming new members.
The next meeting, hopefully face to face, will be held on November 8 at BDCU in Auburn Street at 5.30pm. It will endorse the committee's direction and plan for fundraising events in 2021-2022.
