Four community groups in the Upper Lachlan Shire will benefit from a combined $18,843 funding boost under the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Fund.

The grants, which were assessed by the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Committee, were approved at a council meeting on September 16.

Gunning District Community and Health Service received $5000 for a battery back-up for a vaccine fridge. With a UPS battery pack system the vaccine fridge will be able to maintain medical supplies during any outages.
Gunning 200 Celebration received $743 for a commemorative tree and a plaque.
Dalton Public Hall was granted $2500 for a landing ramp. The installation of a metal landing and ramp at the rear of the hall will facilitate access to the stage area from the rear of the building and also act as an exit point.
Gunning District Association received $10,600 for shade for Barbour Park equipment. The project will improve recreational opportunities for families, increase satisfaction with community facilities and boost local businesses by supporting tourism.
Council general manager Colleen Worthy said the fund provided grants to projects or initiatives that benefited the community within 20km of the wind farm.
"As part of the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Enhancement Program, Cullerin Range Wind Farm sets aside money each year to assist their community," Mrs Worthy said.
"It is wonderful to see our local community groups benefit from this funding for such a diverse range of such practical things."
