Not only are they back open, but they also won the Goulburn's favourite community service award at the virtual Business 2580 Awards on Saturday, October 9.
Goulburn PCYC manager Janelle Lawson was proud of not only herself, but also her staff.
"I'm pleasantly surprised we were nominated and thrilled that we won," Ms Lawson.
"We work very closely with Mission Australia and Headspace too, so they deserve some recognition as well."
The award was a welcome boost for the organisation given their struggles with COVID.
"The club was closed during lockdown, so our casual and part time staff were stood down," she said.
'That left me as the only full time staff worker, but even then, my hours were cut to three days a week.
"Within those days, we were able to assist our police officers with food relief and any community service activities."
With lockdown now lifted for the fully vaccinated, things are slowly going back to normal.
"We're still having a slow uptake of people returning to the club, but that may be because of the current health orders," she said.
"Having said that, we're looking forward to a good term and we're looking into our Christmas party later this year."
As a charity designed to care and serve the population, nearly 90 per cent of operations are funded via club activities, fundraising and contestable grants.
With the closures, hundreds of thousands of dollars they would typically generate to help fund vital programs for at-risk youth was lost, so opening up was definitely a big positive for Goulburn PCYC.
