While for the first week back in the saddle dancing was not permitted, last weekend residents stood up and danced with renewed vigor after weeks of closed venues.
"People are just so happy to be dancing and having a good time," Mr Agius said.
During lockdown Mr Agius performed via Facebook every Saturday night, but nothing beats the spotlight and a live audience.
"Performing live again has been great," he said.
"It is something we took for granted for so long."
Mr Agius said crowds were "a bit more appreciative" of live music than before lockdown.
"On the weekend the atmosphere at the Hibo was unbelievable," he said.
"People were so happy."
For the seasoned singer, his favourite songs were "anything that gets the crowd going".
For Goulburn Club entertainment coordinator Ron McLaughlin reopening was "an opportunity for people to get back together".
He said business had been "fairly quiet" since lockdown restrictions eased, but regular clients were starting to "drift back in".
Mr McLaughlin said customers commented they were "feeling more relaxed and glad to be out meeting people again".
"[The Goulburn Club] is about companionship but also musical activities."
Although the future was "hard to know at this stage" the club has some noteworthy events planned.
On December 4 the club will hold a Tiki party in the courtyard. The courtyard has undergone work to become a true entertainment venue. Dress up, get colourful and kick back at this fun-filled event.
Regular weekly activities and performances have also resumed including live music on Fridays and open mic nights.
Additionally, on February 12 to 13 to mark the annual Blues Festival the Goulburn Club will host a blues weekend.
"We want to keep up the idea that Goulburn is home to the blues," Mr McLaughlin said.
Mr Agius will perform at the Gordon Hotel on November 2 for Melbourne Cup Day from 6pm to 10pm. Check out more gigs here.
