Seven Taralga community groups and organisations will share in almost $136,000 in grants from the Taralga Wind Farm Community Fund for 2021/22.

The grants were assessed by the Taralga Wind Farm Community Committee and were approved under council resolution 138/21 at the August meeting.
Taralga Wind Farm owner and operator BJCE Australia supports the fund with an annual financial contribution, as part of its ongoing commitment to local communities.

The grants will help to fund the following projects:
$6699 for a new zero turn mower for the Taralga Historical Society
The current mower was given to the society by the Mulwaree Shire Council more than 20 years ago. It is old and cumbersome and forever breaking down. As a result, members are bringing their own zero turn mowers in to keep the grounds in top shape. The new zero turn mower to will replace the old ride on mower.
$18,400 for the Taralga Golf Club "Golf Buggy" project
The course provides the community with somewhere to exercise and socialise with friends. The course is used regularly by a lady's group on Wednesdays, a men's group on Thursdays and Sunday mornings. New carts will replace two old golf carts which have been a necessity for allowing people to play. In addition, the four-seater golf cart has broken down and it is uneconomic to repair.
$41,580 for a WWII War Memorial at the Taralga RSL Club
Construction of a permanent Memorial to honour and remember the enormous contribution of war veterans from Taralga and District during WWII and later conflicts.
$23,780 for improvements to the water infrastructure system at the Taralga Showground and Recreational Co-operative
The improvements will make the grounds more water efficient and sustainable for the future by reducing usage and costs. This will be better for the town's water supply, will supply more tap points, and is more suitable for current and future use of the grounds. The improvements will reduce running costs, ground usage fees, and will also keep camping fees down to a more attractive stopping point, increasing tourism.
$12,212 for window restoration at the Taralga Community Medical Association
The project will replace the current windows using double glazed glass and restore the woodwork trim, to eliminate existing rot.
$27,995 to upgrade the bowling green at Taralga Bowling Club
Removal of old perimeter and replace with new concrete perimeter.
$5242.90 to upgrade the furniture and heating at Taralga Playgroup
A space will be created for parents to sit and interact while their children play. Additional heating and equipment suitable for young babies will be purchased.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council general manager Colleen Worthy said the grants would have a significant impact on Taralga.
"It's great that so many organisations will share in this year's grants," she said.
"These are substantial amounts and it is very pleasing to see such a diverse group of projects being assisted by the Taralga Wind Farm Community Enhancement Program in the 2021/2022 Grants."
