There was the positive news of all 66 PCYCs across the state reopening, but hundreds of thousands of dollars typically generated was lost during lockdown.
The good news is you can help out by giving regular or one off donations which mainly go towards youth programs.
PCYC managers have a list of where they think the funds should go and they discuss it with both the operations manager and sector manager. Staff and other local services are also consulted.
A one-off donation of $500 would cover the cost for one week of a young person attending PCYC's Fit for Work program which is an employment readiness skills training course.
A $200 donation would cover the cost for a young indigenous person to attend the Fit Together program which encourages positive relationships between the Police and Aboriginal communities and prevents re-offending.
Lotteries are another way to support PCYCs and to win over $100,000 in prizes including a new vehicle, gold bullion, home appliances, or monthly cash.
Tickets are $10 for two and can be bought by calling 1300 034 505 or emailing info@pcyclottery.org.au.
