Sunday, October 31 is just around the corner, so here are some tips and treat ideas to make this Halloween a spooktacular one.
Safety
Halloween is all about having fun, but there are still some COVID-safe ways of ensuring you have the best day ever.
NSW Health's Jeremy McAnulty suggested people to provide closed packaging for treats and instead of communal lolly bowls and to consider other ways of distributing treats like along the front fence or hidden in the front yard.
"You should also try to keep it local and put effort into decorating the front yard and staying in your neighbourhood rather than travelling to well-known 'treat streets' frequented by many people," Mr McAnulty said.
Celebrations should also be kept outside and people are reminded to not share costume face masks and to practice good hygiene.
Costume ideas
Struggling to come up with costume ideas? Maybe go with the flow.
People specialized in high-quality and on-trend DIY projects and tutorials in home design, fashion, and crafts from DIYS.com did some research on the most popular Halloween costumes in the world.
Spiderman was found to be the most popular costume worldwide and the most searched for, while pirates were the second most popular costume and were loved most by countries like Australia and Norway.
Witches were the third most popular costume.
Some other costume ideas include dressing up as Dracula, a mummy, a zombie, a werewolf and even a cereal killer by taping empty cereal boxes to yourself.
When purchasing a costume online, always read the description and make sure you know exactly what is included so you get everything you bought.
Treats
Based on trends seen on the social media app TikTok, these were the top five most popular treats to have on Halloween were pumpkin pie, butterbeer, candy apples, pumpkin bread and pumpkin soup.
