One death, ten new cases recorded in Queanbeyan and Yass

Of the ten new cases:

- Eight new cases are in the Queanbeyan Palerang region (one in Queanbeyan West, four in Googong, and three in Crestwood). A Crestwood case is linked to a known case. All other cases are under investigation.

- Two new cases are in the Yass Valley region and are under investigation.

This brings the total cases in SNSWLHD to 477 since the start of the current outbreak in June.

NSW records 190 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths

Sadly, one patient from Queanbeyan, a male in his 60's, passed away on November 1. He had one dose of the vaccine and significant underlying health conditions.

NSW Health state-run clinics are now offering a booster dose, using the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, to individuals aged 18 and over.

This booster shot will help people maintain a high level of protection against the COVID-19 virus, including the Delta variant.

People aged 18 years and older may receive a booster at least six months after receiving their second dose of any of the COVID-19 vaccines registered for use in Australia.

Southern NSW Local Health District is urging community members to continue to come forward for vaccination and to be alert for any symptoms that could signal COVID-19, including headache, nausea, sore throat, runny nose, cough, loss of smell or taste, or fever.

If symptoms appear, people must isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.

Everyone aged 12 years and over is eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccination. COVID-19 vaccines have proven to be safe, effective and life-saving.

First, second and booster vaccinations can be booked through the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder.
