However, women in the Southern Highlands will have to wait longer as the BreastScreen NSW service in Bowral remains temporarily shut, despite a BreastScreen NSW spokesperson suggesting all "regional clinics were open."
It was reported in September that BreastScreen would gradually reopen its doors after services were temporarily suspended in August.
A BreastScreen NSW spokesperson said they were working with the local health districts to plan the resumption of services.
"The decision to suspend screening was made in response to the increased risk posed by the COVID-19 Delta strain and a need to redeploy staff to support the pandemic response at each local health district," they said.
"A gradual reopening of clinics across the state is occurring on a case-by-case basis, according to the level of risk and operational considerations posed by the COVID-19 Delta strain in the area.
"Women who had their appointment cancelled during the temporary suspension will be allocated a prioritised booking."
The Southern Highlands falls under the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) while Goulburn falls under Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD).
More than half of the BreastScreen NSW clinics have reopened in Greater Sydney and the surrounding area since September, including areas that were considered hot spots in the June 2021 COVID-19 outbreak.
The BreastScreen NSW spokesperson said the remaining metropolitan services, including Bowral, were in the final stages of planning their reopening with dates to be confirmed.
"We continue to urge any women experiencing breast symptoms to see their regular doctor without delay to get a referral for diagnostic testing, which continues to be the nationally recommended pathway for symptomatic women," they said.
