The United Arab Emirates says it is the first country in the world to have vaccinated 100 per cent of its population against the coronavirus at least once.

About 90 per cent of the population have received a total of two vaccination doses against the virus so far, according to the Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).
According to data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) in the US, this also makes the Gulf country the world leader in complete vaccinations.
In total, the country has administered nearly 22 million doses of vaccination to its nearly 10 million residents, the NCEMA tweeted on Monday.
The country is already providing booster shots.
The UAE is currently registering new infections in the double digits every day.
Last week, two people died as a result of the virus, according to the JHU and NCEMA.
The country had set a fast pace in its vaccination campaign from the beginning.
Singapore, with nearly 88 per cent, and Portugal, with nearly 87 per cent, are also doing similarly well to the Gulf state in terms of full vaccination, according to the JHU.
Most residents in the UAE are migrant workers from countries such as India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Only a fraction are Emiratis.
However, the vaccinations are administered to all regardless of their origin.
