Goulburn police officer awarded 2021 Outstanding GLLO award for Southern Region
The Hume Police District's LGBTQIA officer Inspector Alison Brennan has been awarded the 2021 Outstanding GLLO Award for the Southern Region. As a GLLO officer, Inspector Brennan said it wasn't about treating the LGBTQIA community differently, but rather it was about treating them equally.

Goulburn Young Woman for 2022 announced as Claire Liversidge (Profile)
Claire Liversidge has followed in her mother's footsteps by becoming the Goulburn Young Woman (formerly Goulburn Showgirl) for 2022. The 21-year-old, whose mother was the Crookwell Young Woman in 1989 (known as Crookwell Showgirl at the time), was officially sashed at the Goulburn AP and H Society Young Woman Presentation and Annual Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 3.

Goulburn's Belmore Park to host Carols in the Park on December 19
Carols in the Park is back. Well-known Goulburn musician Steve Ruddell, Jeff White from Goulburn's Whitenoise Pro Audio and Geoff and Cathy Bell from Laing Entertainment felt that given the lockdowns and cancelled events due to Covid that they needed to do something to help lift local spirits. The free family event will include local artists like Roo Arcus, Jamie Agius, Ooh La La, The Rich Pitcher, Leaving Reality while Hume Conservatorium's staff and students with be joined by Special Guest MC, five-time Golden Guitar winner Pete Denahy.
Goulburn's Anglicare and St Saviours Cathedral's annual Christmas Giving Tree appeal underway
Over 150 families local families are expected to benefit from Anglicare and St Saviours Cathedral's annual Christmas Giving Tree appeal which began in the past week. This marks the 10th year of the appeal, and St Saviours Cathedral Reverend Dean Phillip Saunders said over 400 gifts were received last year. The gifts, which are distributed to families in need in the Goulburn area, are handed out by Anglicare staff and volunteers. Residents were encouraged to donate unwrapped presents at St Saviours Cathedral on or prior to 21 December or to call 4823 4000.
