Teen in hospital following crash near Goulburn CBD
A man was injured on May 1 following a crash near the Goulburn CBD. At about 12.15pm, police were notified of the collision between a car and a motorbike at the intersection of Cowper Street and Goldsmith Street. Police said the male L-plate motorcyclist, aged in his late teens, was thrown from his motorbike and suffered an upper leg and hand injury.
Rockmans, Strandbags stores in Goulburn are closing
On May 3 the Post reported that Rockmans and Strandbags stores were closing in Goulburn. The Rockmans store announced the decision after failure to negotiate a new leasing agreement, an employee of the store said. Meanwhile, Strandbags store, located at Goulburn Square, was set to close down on May 22.
Goulburn's Sheridan Wood 'never let Cystic Fibrosis define her'
A dinner marking the 50th anniversary of Goulburn's Cystic Fibrosis (CF) branch in May was tinged with sadness, following Sheridan Wood's passing. The annual 65 Roses dinner, raising awareness and funds for research into the disorder, planned a special tribute to the tireless advocate, who passed away aged 40 on Tuesday, May 4.

Goulburn retiree to buy new boat with Saturday Lotto win
On May 10, a Goulburn retiree kicked off her Monday morning with the news she was suddenly $1.8 million richer, after picking up the phone with no idea she was holding a division one winning entry. The Southern Tablelands resident held one of the 11 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4153, drawn Saturday, May 8. Each division one winning entry scored $1,818,181.82.
Garry 'Tailpipe' Guthrie remembered as 'gregarious' and 'full of life'
The thundering sound of motorcycle engines resonated throughout Goulburn on May 7, as a large crowd gathered outside Sts Peter and Paul's Old Cathedral to farewell Garry Guthrie. Family and friends honoured the "loving, caring, generous, loyal" man. Garry James Guthrie, known as 'Tailpipe', passed away after an accident on April 25, 2021.

Bungonia arcs up over Jerrara Power plans for waste to energy facility
Forces were rallying at Bungonia and beyond in May against a $608 million proposed waste to energy plant on Jerrara Road. Two action groups had formed on social media and residents spoke up about the concerns regarding the technology, potential health impacts and truck movements.
