The total sum is made up of contributions from three individual grants. $30,000 came from the Community Building Partnership fund, while $200,000 was provided by the Stronger Country Communities fund and $960,000 was received via a grant from the Regional Sporting fund.
Stockmen president, Matt Cowling, was "rapt" with the funding and said it would be a huge boost to the development proposed under the North Park Master Plan.
The planned upgrades to the ground include improvements to the field, irrigation, grandstands, an amenities block, and a pavilion or multi-purpose building.
"We can finally get the facilities that we've needed for a long time, especially for the women coming into the sport," Cowling said.
"We're fighting over changerooms at the moment, so it'll be great. We haven't had work done in North Park for a long time, it's just really good news for us."
The Stockmen, Cowling said, have been working on procuring this funding for roughly the last four years. Former committee member Bec Harmer did much of the early work, which has been continued since her departure by Danielle Cowling.
The announcement was made initially by Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman, in a Facebook post on Saturday.
This prompted a heartfelt response from the Stockmen on their own Facebook page, where the club said it was "beyond excited and proud to say our work behind the scenes over many years has paid off!"
"We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Robbie Hughes and Linus Nesbitt-Hawes from Goulburn Mulwaree Council for their tireless effort in helping our club secure this funding.
To [Wendy Tuckerman] we sincerely thank you for your commitment to the continuing growth and development of sport in our town. Your efforts in obtaining this for our club and footy community is greatly appreciated.
There is as yet no confirmed timeline for the installation of the new infrastructure at North Park, but the Stockmen are hopeful work will begin as soon as possible.
