Sunday evening's storm caused several phone lines to go dark in Taralga with a Telstra spokesperson revealing their were similar outages in Marulan, Tallong and Moss Vale.
Services were promptly restored on Wednesday but not before providing households and businesses a rude shock when waking up on Monday morning.
Taralga Rural employee Amanda Rees said it had made life difficult as they returned to start a new year of work.
"We didn't work over the long weekend so when we came back in on the Tuesday, the phone was obviously out and we got them back around lunchtime on Wednesday," she explained.
"It's a bit annoying when you're trying to run a business, asking people to leave messages via Facebook or Instagram to get orders in!
"I can't think of a time they've been out for that long. Mobiles worked as well as they do out here, it's shocking."
Residents are no strangers to communication issues as detailed in the Goulburn Post's investigation in 2021.
Storms on Monday evening also wrecked havoc in the region with up to 10 vineyards in Murrumbateman destroyed by hail.
