The historic town has seen a number of public artworks installed recently, from animals with an important message to a sweeping mural as you enter town.
Some of the works are part of the Upper Lachlan Council's collaboration with Southern Tablelands Arts, called 'Share R Streets' whilst others, like the recently-completed mural at Taralga Sports Club, have been initiatives by residents
Taralga Progress Association member Prue Burfitt said works such as the mural, painted by Thomas Jackson, had made a big difference to the town.
"Taralga is very community-minded," she said of the inspiration behind the works.
"Thomas Jackson did a mural on his sister-in-law's building next door to the memorial hall and that's when Terry Bennett brought it to the Progress Association about putting a mural on the Sports Club.
"We funded that and he's just finished today [Friday]. I think it looks brilliant as you drive into town.
"It's a real eye-catcher. It's brightened the place up a bit in these dark times."
Upon seeing the mural, drivers will then notice a bunch of animal sculptures with a message scrawled on the bottom.
Titled 'Animals' by local artists Jan Green and Dianna Bissett, each sculpture has a message, often a joke, urging drivers to slow down.
It's just one recent addition to what is fast becoming a must-visit destination for art lovers.
"Two of the local artists Jan Green and Dianna Bisset designed the street art with the different animals," Prue said.
"There's little messages underneath them telling people to slow down. We've had a few comments already because you have to slow right down to read them. It just looks terrific.
"They also put in plant boxes and planted some lovely trees. There's a lovely cube as well opposite the Sports Club that Heidi McGeoch designed.
"There's a lot of work in it, lots of little animals pertaining to Taralga. The Council have actually put a solar light on that so it lights up at night."
With the mural finally completed, Prue said the Association would turn its attention to helping deliver the annual Art Show in June after it was cancelled last year.
"We really haven't been able to meet to discuss anything!
"Let's hope we can have an Arts Show this year. That's normally on the June long weekend and that is our big major attraction for Taralga. We get a lot of people at that."
