Winemaker Alex McKay said the trophies solidified the winery's reputation for "excellence."
"The awards are a really pleasing endorsement of our winemaking and consistency of style," he said.
"It takes patience and years of crafting a wine to be able to produce (ones) that will stand the test of time, and I'm just delighted that the wines have received this recognition.
"Congratulations to the other trophy winners. The wines from this region are among the best in Australia and I'm excited to see where what the future will bring for the Canberra, Hilltops, Gundagai and Tumbarumba regions."
The Tiger Tiger Chardonnay comes from sites high in the Tumbarumba region, just south of Canberra, with deep granite soils. The Tiger Tiger Chardonnay is known for its "considered winemaking," the power of the chardonnay carefully balanced with the use of whole bunch pressing, barrel ferment and fine-grained French oak, Mr McKay says.
The Lamp Lit Marsanne is Collector Wines' take on the Northern Rhone variety. Unlike marsanne grown elsewhere across Australia, Collector seeks out hillside aspects that offer good ripening by day while retaining a taut structure and freshness. Mr McKay said they were perfect Canberra locations for the grapes to ripen with the desired flavour profile.
The Lantern Red is always a tempranillo-dominant blend, although the exact blend varies from year to year.
Mr McKay said he responded to the seasons each year and determined a final blend which brought together "a juicy palate with fleshy tannins."
The Canberra and Region Wine Show showcases premium quality cool climate wines from Canberra and the surrounding region, and is known for recognising some of Australia's highest quality wines.
Collector Wines is a small winery from the cool climate Canberra district, well-known for its shiraz, marsanne and chardonnay. The winery also produces small quantities of alternative varieties such as sangiovese, pinot meunier, fiano, gruner veltliner, among others.
The winery made the Real Review's Top Wineries of Australia List in both 2020 and 2021, and was awarded the GT Wine Star Cellar Door Award in 2020. The winery will be opening its new cellar door in country Collector in 2022.
