The person will assist people suffering the disease around Goulburn, Crookwell and Yass.
"It's imminent and due to be announced soon," Mrs Bisset said of the appointment.
"We are all very excited that we've done this. The Support Group has been raising money for a nurse for the past seven years and Gill and Michael O'Connor have been the driving forces."
Both Mr O'Connor, a former bank manager, and Mr Bisset, have Parkinson's Disease. The O'Connors started the Support Group in 2006 to help others suffering the condition.
Mrs Bisset said while no firm health data was available, based on population ratios, there could be as many as 600 people in Goulburn with the disease.
The quest began in about 2015 to raise money for a local support nurse to help with resources, medications, improve people's quality of life and access appropriate care.
The group has raised $200,000 in that time through various fundraisers. The Shakin' Cocktail party, held since 2018, has been a cornerstone event.
The dinner will once again be held at the Goulburn Workers Club on Saturday, April 2 and tickets are selling fast.
The $70 cost includes two cocktails, a dinner and show by award winning magician/illusionist Jonas Jost. Mrs Bisset said he was back by popular demand following last year's hit performance. Mr Jost, who will be bringing his doves, is also the main presenter on the evening.
"The food is amazing, there will be table magic, a mask decorating competition with prizes, and great company. It's a good, fun, relaxing night," Mrs Bisset said.
Tables of six will be distanced in line with COVID-19 regulations.
All money raised goes towards the nurse's ongoing employment.
Bookings close this weekend for the event, which starts at 6pm at the Goulburn Workers Club. Tickets can be purchased at the Club's reception area.
Already, 70 tickets have sold for the function. The auditorium can accommodate about 120 people.
