Kate's coming to share a secret

Maybe it’s something in the air. Maybe it’s just the vibe.

Whatever the reason, great Aussie authors are now making Goulburn a regular stop on their promotional trail, and that trend will continue next week when Kate Morton will visit to promote her best-selling book, the Secret Keeper.

That book-signing alone is a genuine coup for Goulburn as it will be Kate’s only regional signing on her Australian tour. But Kate’s fans have a lot more than just a book-signing to look forward to as she will be the guest of a literary lunch at the Southern Star next Friday.

“We’re delighted she is taking the time to visit us and have this lunch with us,” said Town and Country Books proprietor Colleen Briggs.

“To be the only site she’s visiting outside of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane is an honour and for her to share this lunch with her many fans is unpredcedented.”

The Secret Keeper is currently placed eighth on the New York Bestsellers List and is published in over 30 countries.

Shifting between the 1930s, the 1960s and the present, The Secret Keeper is described as a spellbinding story of mysteries and secrets, theatre and thievery, murder and enduring love.

With just three novels published, Kate Morton has sold over 7 million copies in 26 languages, across 38 countries. The Shifting Fog, published internationally as The House at Riverton, The Forgotten Garden and The Distant Hours have all been number one bestsellers around the world. Each novel won the Australian Book Industry award for General Fiction Book of the Year.

Kate grew up in the mountains of south-east Queensland and lives now with her husband and young sons in Brisbane. She has degrees in dramatic art and English literature, specializing in nineteenth-century tragedy and contemporary gothic novels.

The lunch will start at midday on Friday 19th at the Southern Star and bookings are essential.
