Elderly man bites off fellow octogenarian's ear

An 80-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly bit off the ear of an 81-year-old man in a scuffle on Friday.

The fight broke out after an argument over a parking space at the two men’s block of units at Chester Avenue, Dianella at 12.30pm.

The disagreement allegedly became physical and police say the victim realised his right ear had been bitten off only after the pair separated.

Walking away from the altercation, the victim said the alleged offender indicated an item on the ground, which the victim picked up and put in his pocket.

Only when he was back in his unit did he realise the item was his ear.

The victim’s current condition is not known.

The 80-year-old man will appear in court in East Perth on Saturday charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
