Tony Dawson was returned as the club’s president, with Bryan Dell, Mick Humphries, Wayne Sharwood, Craig Brown, Greg McAleer, Bruce Bugden, Ray Pollock and Trevor McEachan filling the other roles.
A vice-president will be elected at a meeting to be held next Thursday. Club CEO Peter Walker was pleased with the attendance at the AGM and reflected on a successful year for the club.
“We had a pretty good roll up – more than we’ve had for a few years,” Mr Walker said.
“It was a very positive meeting. We were able to report a profit of $406,000 for the year which I think was a very good result in the face of the restrictions placed on clubs, the taxes and the financial crisis.”
Mr Walker said that, in addition to declaring a profit, the club had been able to inject over $500,000 through the Community Development Support Scheme on upgrading sporting amenities and community facilities in Goulburn.
Among the recipients of assistance were sporting groups such as the Workers Bulldogs, the Goulburn Rugby Club and
Goulburn Hockey. The club also maintained its long standing association with Goulburn Base Hospital and provided assistance through the club’s charter.
Also tabled at the AGM were plans for the coming year, which include the resurfacing of the Hockey Complex, a joint venture with Goulburn Hockey Inc, at a cost of over $350,000 per field; a paintball complex at the Area; and renovations to the Auburn Street area.
A resolution was passed changing the requirements for board eligibility to three years membership and no union membership requirements, with those changes to be brought in for 2011. The board will also be streamlined with the positions of junior and senior vice-president scrapped in favour of one vice president position.
