Fixed wing aircraft, filling up at Goulburn airport, have been water bombing the Yass fires today. Council and Divall's Earthmoving are keeping the aircraft supplied. The planes can transport 3000 litres at one time.
Meantime, another fire has broken out at the base of the national park at Tallong, between Badgerys Rd and Long Point Lookout. Ground crews have attended though it has been handed over to National Parks to also deploy aircraft.
It's also been revealed a fire beside the Hume Highway at South Marulan started from a slasher, angering RFS administration.
