The match is set to be a blockbuster, after the Bulldogs all but confirmed a top four placing against a spirited Woden Valley last week.
The Blues thoroughly disposed of the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 28-6 that weekend and are currently on equal points with Goulburn and the Queanbeyan Roos.
Captain / coach Mick Picker said: “Even though we won [against Woden], we were rusty and we know that.”
“We just have to do better against the Blues, just complete our sets because I think we threw it around a bit too much last week.”
The last time the two sides met in the opening round of the season, the Bulldogs let an 18-nil half-time lead slip away.
Picker is determined to not let it happen again. “A lot of season has passed since then,” he said.
“At this stage of the season we have a good idea of who the form teams are. And it’s good to be sitting on top of the table but it means nothing if we drop the bundle now.”
The Bulldogs will be without forward Shane McCallum who is set for a stint on the sidelines with a knee injury sustained last weekend.
“It hurts that he’s gone. They [The Blues] have a really solid forward pack, bigger then us and they are a quality side,” Picker said.
“I think we can match them in that respect, but I just know they’re a solid side. Marc Herbert has plenty of first grade experience under his belt.”
Due to the horrid weather conditions this week the Bulldogs opted for an indoor boot-camp style training session on Tuesday night.
The Goulburn Workers Bulldogs take on the Queanbeyan Blues at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan 3pm tomorrow.
