About 11:55pm on Saturday 27th September 2014 an elderly lady was sleeping in the front room of her residence on Adam Street Goulburn. At this time she was woken by her bedroom window smashing, and glass showering onto her, as her bed was directly under the window. The elderly lady was understandably frightened, and woke her daughter who was asleep in another room. Police attended and located an empty beer bottle and an empty can of rum lying at the front of the house near the smashed window. This was the second incident on the same night police attended a random act of damage to property by projectile.
Police would like to urge drinkers to act responsibly and be considerate of other members of the public when walking home from parties, or licensed venues, etc. The distress caused to this elderly lady by a drunken and disorderly act is shameful. Police locating any persons who are acting in a disorderly manner will be dealt with by formal action resulting in hefty fines, and/or charges.
