This is the message local mental health organisation Angels for the Forgotten is hoping to convey at their official launch this morning at the Workers Club.
Members of Council, Mayor Geoff Kettle, Dr Ursula Stephens, and Minister Pru Goward have all been invited, too.
“This information session is about letting the community know who we are, how our charity started, and what our plans are here in the community,” Angels for the Forgotten Founder and President Melina Skidmore told the Post.
“Goulburn has a very significant part in the history of the charity, and it is for this reason that the head office is now being located here, which was always a part of the long term plan.”
Ms Skidmore said that Angels for the Forgotten is a fully registered organisation that has been operating for almost four years and has helped over 18,000 children, youth and families in that time.
“We are very proud to now call Goulburn home and to be offering our services here locally,” Ms Skidmore said.
“We are of course calling out for volunteers, because without volunteer support, we will be unable to carry out our work.”
The group will be holding information sessions in the Function Room at the Workers Club from 10:30am-12 noon and 12:30pm-2pm on Friday.
