The vehicle believed to be a Ford Laser travelling in a northerly direction crossed to the wrong side of the road and sideswiped the caravan, being towed by a 4WD, which was travelling south towards Braidwood, approximately 1.5 km north of the Covan Creek Rd turnoff near Lake Bathurst at around 12:30 pm this afternoon.
Police at the scene told the Post that the driver of the Ford managed to escape out of the passenger side door. He was then conveyed to Goulburn Base Hospital for treatment. There were no injuries sustained to the driver of the 4WD.
RFS crews from Gundary and surrounding areas were also deployed to conduct an inspection and cleanup of the accident site.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
