I WAS staggered, though I shouldn’t have been, by the instructions handed down from Rupert Murdoch to our PM Tony Abbott to sack his chief of staff Peta Credlin.

Now you may have guessed that I don’t vote for Tony and his crew, Federal or State, at the best of times. And for all I know, Peta may well deserve a damned good sacking.
When I contemplate Mr Abbott doing the bidding of his mates from the big end of town, I get somewhat peeved.
But when I see Tony (whether we like it or not our supposedly democratically elected Prime Minister) cringing to his master from the other end of the globe, I get uneasy.
It makes me wonder who exactly is being elected into power when voters, in good faith, turn up at the ballot box and vote for the big parties.
The Greens kowtow to no-one and are the only major party to unequivocally demand clean and transparent politics in this State and in this country.
