In the high scoring game, which resulted in the Raiders soundly defeating the Knights 44 to 22 at Hunter Stadium, Croker also equalled the Queensland State of Origin coach Mal Meninga’s total of 74 tries for the Canberra Club making them equal fourth highest try scorers.
Ahead of them are Jason Croker with 120, Brett Mullins 105 and NSW State of origin coach Laurie Daley with 87.
Croker is now the third highest point scorer for the club with 1018 points and by the end of the season will possibly overtake the club’s second highest point scorer Clifton Schifcofske, who achieved a total of 44 tries, 432 goals and 12 field goals from 2001 to 2006 and a total of 1052 points.
The Raiders all time top point scorer is David Furner, whose career was from 1992 to 2000 and in that time he scored 1218 points from 49 tries and 511 goals.
Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart in the post game press conference, who was far more upbeat than in the one the previous week said, “Croker is going to go on and break all records at the club.
“I was really excited for Jarrod tonight (Saturday) being so young in his career and achieving that (referring to the 20 points Croker scored and the career total of 1018).
“It’s a huge effort for an individual.”
