Rural Fire Service Community Safety Officer Peter Dyce said the Department of Environment and Conservation (old NPWS) are conducting a hazard reduction burn in the Tarlo River National Park, about 20km south east of Taralga.
He said about 490ha is burning as at 5.20pm Thursday, but it is a controlled burn and DEC staff are in attendance, monitoring the fire.
