This game will also be special as the Crookwell Rugby Club is joining forces with the Cauliflower Club to hold a charity fundraising day for the whole family.
The Cauliflower Club was established in 2012 by Wallaby legends Peter FitzSimons and Nick Farr Jones and is a rugby based charity committed to providing sporting and recreation equipment to enhance the lives of those with disabilities, with a bias towards sporting related injuries.
“This day promises to be a very entertaining day for the whole family” said Crookwell Rugby Club President Adam Kennedy.
“We will be featuring a big program of rugby, starting with the Crookwell Pups U6 team.
We will then have an U8/U10/U12 combined exhibition match followed by the ever popular ‘Golden Oldies’ match where legends from the past kit up and get back on the field for a friendly match to bring back memories.
The main game, the Dogs taking on the Tigers will then follow this.
We also have a number of off field activities both at Memorial Oval and at the home of The Crookwell Dogs, the Crookwell Golf Club to help raise funds for the Cauliflower Club.”
The Cauliflower Day will begin at 8.30am with a street stall at the amenities block in the Main Street of Crookwell.
Gates open at Memorial Oval at 12pm, with the Pups games to start at 12.30pm.
The main game will kick off at 2.30pm.
The Dogs will be wearing a specially designed one off Cauliflower Club jersey on the day.
These jerseys will then be auctioned off after the game at the Golf Club.
Proceeds from the raffles and auction will be going to the Cauliflower Club Charity.
The Dogs Bar will be in full swing at the game, The Crookwell Pups will be running the barbecue, and will be happy to feed you throughout the day.
After the main game, the entertainment doesn’t stop.
The day will continue at the Crookwell Golf Club, with an early disco for the kids, the jersey auction and then we have a DJ to play some great tunes to help us dance the night away.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming the local community to our Cauliflower Club Charity Day on July 2, it will be a great day of running rugby and will be fun for the whole family.
Come along and help us raise some money for a great cause,” Mr Kennedy said.
