A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said they were called to the scene shortly before 1pm but they were not required to treat or transport anyone.
A Rural Fire Service spokesperson said they attended the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.
“The car was well-alight when we arrived. The people travelling in it had noticed the engine was catching fire and pulled over before flames engulfed the vehicle,” the spokesperson said.
EARLIER: South-bound traffic on the Federal Highway at Wollogorang is affected by a car fire.
One of two south-bound lanes is closed because of the fire, which started at about 1.04pm near Stillwater Road on Wednesday, October 5, according to Live Traffic NSW.
Emergency services are in attendance and motorists are warned to take caution in the area.
