This comes after Mr Baird announced last week the sale of NSW’s electricity infrastructure, Ausgrid which would rake in $16 billion for the State. Out of that money, $10 billion will be spent repaying government debt and the rest will be left for the State’s use.
“This is a good time for Mike Baird to show that he does care for health, in not only the cities, but the regional areas,” Ms Cotter said.
In Mr Baird’s first debate against opponent Luke Foley in early 2015, before his election as Premier, he said he would fight publicly for a “better deal” and “fair funding” for NSW’s health and education sector.
Ms Cotter said that she, and many others, did not forget that promise.
“That money should be spent on the health of all of the constituents,” she said. “It comes down to priority.”
