Goulburn Mulwaree Council is seeking to extend the walls of the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery into the Caroline Chisholm Courtyard.
The gallery is seeking expressions of interest from artists to enhance the large dominant wall in the Caroline Chisholm Court - a courtyard that connects the gallery and library with the main council building.
A council spokesperson said the artwork should be “inspiring, engaging, complementary to the surrounds and relevant to the site.”
“The wall mural will be a major addition to the courtyard, adding diversity to a developing functional space that can be used for cultural activities and events,” the spokesperson said.
“The proposed work should take into consideration the role Caroline Chisholm played in the Goulburn community and her lifelong humanitarian work.”
Artists and groups who wish to put in an expression of interest must submit a CV, examples of previous works (up to 10 images), a design philosophy, a sketch of the proposed design for this work and three referees relating to previous commissions.
Expressions of Interest forms are available from Goulburn Mulwaree Council Civic Centre at 184 Bourke Street, Goulburn. For further information please contact Sarah Ruberto – Business Manager Marketing, Events and Culture on 4823 4558, or at sarah.ruberto@goulburn.nsw.gov.au
